TREASURE TALES
It is very interesting that the first tale is one about me and not from me.
I have been metal detecting for over 20+ years. With this said I lost my class ring along time ago in Iowa, where I graduated from L&M High School (Go Falcons!!!). That is all I want to say about me. This story is about a GREAT gentleman, his name is Jeff Tedore.
Years ago he was walking in a restaurant parking lot and seen a ring on the parking lot. It had been run over, but was completely intaked. He did some research and could not find any reference anywhere. (the internet was not available to the public as it is now) So the ring went in a container on his shelf. He did not find it metal detecting, but I would like to say he is a very active detectorist though (go figure).
After over 25 years he was going though his finds and turned up the ring, and thought he would make one last effort finding the owner (that is determination), most of us would have already turned it in to a precious metal shop. Well he got on the internet and looked up schools in Iowa, that have a hawk or bird as a mascot. He seen a few, and one was Louisa Muscatine High School. After contacting the school and seeing if a Bunker Hill (written inside the ring) went to the school, he got a match. And this is where I got a call from the school's secretary stating a gentleman found my ring. She gave me his information, and after a very quick phone call, I was re-united with my lost class ring.
Now I have returned many rings to their owners, I have never been on the otherside of the exchange. I was very impressed and excited. Thank god for great people like Russ Bartz and his honesty and his persistance.
It goes to show that metal detectorists are honest people.
Here are pictures that I requested he send me.

Please send in your treasure tales and they will be posted.
